CASA-Compliant Remote Pilot Training Courses
About Remote Pilot Training Courses
Professional Drone Imagery provides CASA-compliant drone training support and practical pathway guidance for individuals, businesses and teams wanting to build commercial drone capability. Our courses and pathway support are designed to help students move from initial pilot training into safer, more confident and more commercially ready operations.
Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) Courses
We provide Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) training support for students seeking to fly multirotor drones up to 7 kg and 25 kg for commercial work. Licencing for heavier drone categories above these weights is handled directly with CASA for operations involving larger payloads (including 150 kg and above), typically used in farming and agriculture, drone delivery, wash drones, and lifting building or solar panel materials.
Training is delivered online and in person for NSW students, with practical, real-world guidance to help build confidence, safe flying habits and a stronger understanding of compliant operations.

Remotely Piloted Aircraft Operator Certificate (REOC)
For students planning to operate commercially who need full insurance, want to apply to fly in restricted areas, fly at night, or conduct EVLOS or BVLOS operations, we provide guidance on the pathway from RePL into ReOC CASA certification.
Who a REOC is ideal for:
ReOC is generally suited to businesses and operators who:
- Intend to trade as a drone service provider for hire or reward, not just use a drone occasionally in their own work.
- Need approvals for more complex operations, such as flying heavier drones, operating outside standard drone safety rules, or working at night.
- Plan to employ, manage or train other remote pilots as part of a structured drone operation.

This support is suited to people wanting to understand what is involved in becoming more operationally capable, more compliant and better prepared to trade as a drone service provider.

Who may not need a REOC

A ReOC is not always required for:
- Recreational flyers using micro or excluded-category drones who are flying for fun.
- People using small, excluded-category drones within standard conditions, for simpler, lower-risk commercial tasks under operator accreditation only.
- Individuals who only need a Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) to work under another company’s ReOC or to operate excluded-category drones within the basic rules.
Aeronautical Radio Operators Certificate (AROC)
For students who may need to communicate on aviation radio frequencies, we provide guidance on the pathway to Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC) certification.
This is particularly relevant for drone pilots seeking approvals in or near controlled airspace, or for operations where clear radio communication is required as part of safe and compliant flying.
White Card - General Construction Induction
For students planning to work on construction, infrastructure or active work sites, we can also help point you in the right direction for White Card training.
A White Card (officially called a General Construction Induction Card / CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry) is a mandatory requirement for people who work on or regularly enter operational construction sites in Australia, and shows you have completed nationally recognised workplace health and safety induction training for construction.
The course must be delivered by an accredited Registered Training Organisation (RTO). You will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) and ID.
This can be an important step for drone pilots wanting safer, more work-ready site access around construction zones and higher-risk work environments.

First Aid Certificate
If you are a new company owner starting without a team, a director doesn’t always need a first aid certificate personally, but in many small or site-based businesses it is practical for them to hold one because someone must be qualified on-site.
A director will typically need a current first aid certificate when they are the sole worker or operator, when they act as the designated first aider in a small team, or when trained staff are away, on leave or working remotely.
So it is worth treating this as part of your setup planning for a solo drone business, and if you later decide to hire staff or contractors, having a current first aid certificate becomes even more recommended so there is always someone qualified on-site.
The First Aid Course HLTAID011 must be conducted by registered (RTO). We support your pathway to this certification.
